A Prayer of Modernity

Silence can be a pleasing sound in this deafening life,
and materalism is but temptation and strife.
Rightness and wrongness is observed as all relative
when love is no longer understood as the One Directive.
He Who is Love was slained for our sins;
yet, stubborn until death, no new life begins
Our Father, Who art in Heaven
give us this day our bread unleavened.
Feed us now as our spirit slowly withers
For that prince of darkness our souls suffer.
